Question: I Would Like To Know All Of The Potential Side Effects To Taking Androstenedione.
I would like to know all of the potential side effects to taking androstenedione and what can be done to avoid these side effects?

Question expanded by another reader.
My boyfriend just started taking andro (50mg) and I want to know more about it. Are there any negative side effects? Does anyone know for sure what the long term effects are? It doesn't seem right to put foreign substances into a body just to get bigger. My boyfriend is already huge. I don't know why he needs to be bigger. Please, if anyone has any information that can help me, please let me know.

Thanks

I am considering taking andro, but wonder if it can effect hair loss? I am presently taking Propecia for hair loss. Is this a problem thanks?

From all the information I've read in Muscle Mag about these new products, is they are all safe, with no harmful side effects, if taken correctly. Logic tells me if you take 10 pills a day, you might get side effects like increased acne. I'm not talking from experience though. Although, I am going to try some androstenedione in the very near future.

One side effect of "andro" that I experience every time I use it is blurred vision. I'm wondering if this is just a personal thing or if it effects anyone else.

Answer #3
I'm not an expert - this is only what I have read, which will cause me to stay away from androstenedione. Here is a short list: acne, increased bodily and facial hair, oily skin, deepening of the voice, enlarged prostate, moodiness, male pattern baldness, female-like breast tissue. Not enough studies have been performed on this supplement, so anyone taking it is definitely taking a risk of acquiring serious side effects similar to those of the illegal steroids.

Answer #4
Andro can cause side effects you should know about such as hair loss and pimples on the back. I have taken several different types of andro AND I WOULDN'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. The benefits for me have been zero. Although, it does work for a few select individuals.

If you do research on the net you will find out andro was never developed for the purpose of gaining muscle and probably never will work because your testosterone increase is only for several hours which means it will die out long before the body needs it to rebuild.

Answer #5
When I was taking Andro the side effects that occurred were shrinkage of my testicles, and acne breakouts.

Answer #6
I have used androstenedione and have noticed no side effects except more definition and bigger muscles. As always, don't try to overdo it. More is not always better.

Answer #7
I haven't used andro before, but I've done my homework on it and it turns out that some things that happen are: blurred vision, acne breakouts, increased bodily and facial hair, oily skin, deepening of the voice, enlarged prostate, mood swings, male pattern baldness, female-like breast tissue, sleepless nights, short temper, and pimples on the back.

There are too many unknowns about androstenedione for it to be trusted. It sends a bad message to everyone else, that you're too much of a wimp to get your own muscles, so you take the shortcut, supplements.

I am on my way to being a bodybuilder. I have been taking Andro for 2 years now and I have gotten the max results. No big tits, no acne, no moodiness, but there is one side effect. BIG AXX MUSCLES!

Answer #9
Norandrostenedione is basically the same thing as androstenedione, but a carbon atom is missing in the nineteenth position. Therefore, the liver can't convert it into testosterone, it changes it into nandrolone. Nandrolone converts into a far milder androgen (DHN]) than testosterone (DHT), but never the less, it still is an androgen. This means that if your boyfriend has any genetic problems associated with androgens, body hair, enlarged prostate, acne, male pattern baldness etc., he WILL accelerate these conditions with this product!

You will find the most extensive information on androstenedione on the web at the National Institute of Health website by using the National Institute of Health Search Engine, http://search.info.nih.gov/

Just type "androstenedione" in the search entry field and then press the "Search" button.

The first returned article is the best...

Happy reading,

I have just started taking -4 andro and 19 diol. I am taking the sublingal type, where you dissolve the pills under your tongue. It enters the blood a lot faster that way. I have also experienced some blurred vision right after taking it or while dissolving under my tongue.

I have taken andro for about five days. It's the andro with crysin, so I know I wont grow tits. The side effects I've noticed so far are mood swings (I'm not a moody person, by the way), plus a couple of breakouts on my back (little pimples though). I've never, ever had a pimple problem. I only usually get an occasional pimple on my back. It doesn't look ugly, though. It's only a minor thing. And another side effect is a little increase of muscle. I'm only going to take it for a month or two, but not forever.

I have been taking andro on and off for about 10 months. While taking it, I have seen results in one month that I have not seen in one month while I didn't take it. I have been taking one dose (100mg andro, 400mg Yohimbe). The only side effects that I noticed was that I lost my temper a lot easier, and I got little break outs on the bottom of my feet. They look like a pool of tiny pimples. I don't know if this is from the andro or from sweating in my socks. I have had some pimples, but If you wash at least twice with acne wash, it takes care of that. If any of you have any more information about the side effects, like nut shrinkage, hair loss or anything else please post them as soon as possible.
