| Question: What Are The Side Effects Of Androstenedione And Tribestone? |
I would like to know all of the potential side effects to taking androstenedione and tribestone?

From all the information I've read in Muscle Mag about these new products, is they are all safe, with no harmful side effects, if taken correctly. Logic tells me if you take 10 pills a day, you might side effects like increased acne. I'm not talking from experience though, although I am going to try some androstenedione in the very near future.

One side effect of "andro" that I experience every time I use it is blurred vision. I'm wondering if this is just a personal thing or if it effects anyone else.

I'm not an expert - this is only what I have read, which will cause me to stay away from androstenedione. Here is a "short": acne, increased bodily and facial hair, oily skin, deepening of the voice, enlarged prostate, moodiness, male pattern baldness, female-like breast tissue. Not enough studies have been performed on this supplement, so anyone taking it is definitely taking a risk of acquiring serious side effects similar to those of the illegal steroids.

This one is certainly a double edged sword. I tried this combination using it two weeks on one week off. I felt more the first two days than I did the rest of the time I used it. It makes you more aggressive in the gym. However this is short lived. The only effect that was constant was sleepless nights and a short temper. I feel that there are still a lot of questions to be answered on the use of these two supplements and for that reason I flushed the rest of my bottle. I honestly get more out of creatine.

I too experienced sleeplessness and irritability. At work, the first day I took 1 100mg pill I broke out into a sweat and felt very jumpy. So I didn't do the stuff for a month...when I tried it again the exact same thing happened. It affects me for several days after as well.
As far as I am concerned, the stuff is no good for you. Maybe it affects me differently than most but I'll never try it again...I tried Creatine and had no serious side effects.
GNC better give me my money back.

Although I'm not an expert, I'm a serious user of many supplements. Androstenedione is just like any natural supplement, not tested enough. Since the "drug" is natural, the FDA does not have to regulate it.
I have used a combo of Andro, Ripped Fuel, Creatine and HMB for the past year. I cannot confirm any of the studies shown by all the doctors that say it is bad. I have however put on 32 lbs of muscle and decreased my body fat to 9%. Everybody has a different chemical makeup in their bodies and everyone has different effects from any supplement. I suggest, take it. If you have any trouble go off of it. It's that easy.

| #1 is uninformed. Don't rely on a friends' advice or columns in muscle mags. Always get the info from the source (the maker of the products). The following is a copy/paste directly from a manufacturer of Androstenediol.
"Warning: This product contains steroid hormones that may cause breast enlargement, testicle shrinkage and infertility in males, and increased facial and body hair, voice deepening, and clitorial enlargement in females. Higher doses may increase these risks. If you are at risk for prostate or breast cancer you should not use this product."
OK, so I posted this for all to see. In summation: in my opinion, make sure you use an estrogen blocker such as DIM (Di-Indolin) in conjunction with the Androstenediol. This will prevent the development of breast-like tissue. As for the other side eaffects, it's like the real juice--you roll the dice. Just don't be an idiot. Never exceed the recommended dosage and avoid consuming alcohol while taking Androstenediol.

All, I can say is there were a few university studies on Andro-dione...and they all showed something different. One said that andro had no positive effects, only the negative side effects. Another one said that 300 mg (Andro-dione) taken for 2 weeks on and 1 week off (1 2) 3 (4 5) 6 (7 8), found in weeks 1, 4, and 7 testosterone was increased in all subjects, enough to "make a difference" in the person taking them. In weeks 2, 5, and 8, testosterone was increased still, but not as high as the first week in the 2 week cycle. Then in weeks 3 and 6, testosterone levels fell to their original level in some and below original levels in others. At the end of the article, it said that in all subjects estrogen levels were increased greatly, and that the new Andro-Diol (which had not yet been tested) was showing promising possibilities to cause testosterone levels to increase, while keeping estrogen levels down.
Here's what I've learned. Between cycles, take tribulus, chrysin or Di-indolin, and Saw Palmetto. Tribulus is "supposed" to help bring back normal testosterone levels and retain any gains made by taking the Andro. The Chrysin or Di-indolin are estrogen blockers, and can help in blocking some of the possible side effects of raised estrogen levels in males. Saw Palmetto is a supplement for healthy prostate function, and steroids have been known to greatly increase the risk of prostate cancer. Well, I hope this helps.
