Androstenedione

Question: I Was Wondering If I Will Be Able To Pass A Drug Test, Or Will The Androstenedione Show Up On The Drug Test?
My name is Wade and just about a month ago I started using andro. I was wondering if I will be able to pass a drug test, or will the androstenedione show up on the drug test? If it does show up could it keep me from getting a job?

As long as you are not an Olympic athlete, professional football or basketball player, or play college sports then it will not matter. The NFL, NBA, NCAA, and IOC have banned andro., but, other than that, it is a legal substance that can be obtained at any nutritional store. The only concern is that there have not been extensive long term studies to show the side effects of andro.. But then again, it seems like most products that are big and new on the market right now (creatine, andro., etc.) do not have long-term extensive studies to show long-term effects. My only question would be if 4 well respected organizations have banned it, why would it be okay for anyone to use? Just something to think about.

Maybe they banned it because they consider it cheating and not because they think it's unsafe.

Androstenedione is not banned from sports because it is not safe, it is because it may provide an unfair advantage to its users. There are many substances out there that could be banned because of safety, but are not. Take alcohol for instance. In a year alcohol kills more people, on average, than all of the banned substances on the IOC's list, yet it is just fine for an athlete to go out and get drunk whenever they want. So, as you can see, safety is not the only reason that substances are banned from sports. The directors of these events are only trying to keep all the athletes as close to even as they can, which makes the competition even better.

The reason that all of the different sporting organizations ban these type of OTC drugs is because it can be used as a masking agent! If your really on Steroids you can say that you've been taking Androstenedione! This is the real reason why these are banned substances!

I did a research paper for school and found out that andro does in fact show up show up as a steroid on drug test. If you look in a buyer's guide it has a warning about this.
