|
What is the amount ration of an ephedrine, aspirin, caffeine stack? Also, how long are you supposed to use it without a break?

I read through a few sources that said the proper dosage of the ECA stack is 20 mg ephedrine, 200 mg caffeine, and 325 mg aspirin. Apparently, after approximately 2-4 weeks, you will build a tolerance to this stack and should rest from it and start again in a few weeks if necessary.

From the information I have gathered from top body builders, the proper dosage is no more than 125mg of Ephedrine, 200mg of Caffeine and 300mg of Aspirin. Once a day and try to limit the time to two - three weeks of usage. Go off for a couple weeks and try the cycle again. This stack works people, if it is used and monitored safely.

325mg of aspirin is probably not a good idea for most people. Aspirin is VERY hard on your stomach. See if you can find 81mg aspirin pills, usually marketed as "Adult Low Strength Pain Reliever." Just take one or two of these per stack. Taking nearly a gram of aspirin a day, though, is a good way to get an ULCER.

I generally take 250-350mg ephedrine, 2000+-400mg caffeine, and 600-1000mg of aspirin per day with no ill effect. Incredible metabolic enhancement. I wouldn't suggest jumping right to this dose, but work your way up from around 1/2 of these doses over 1-2 weeks.

The guy who is taking 350 mgs. of Ephedrine is the type of person you hear about on a slab at the morgue. This is way too much. 100 Mgs of Ephedrine is more the ample. 2000 mgs. of caffeine? Am I reading that correctly? How's your blood pressure?

I have been taking 25mg of ephedrine each day for seven days and occasionally taking caffeine and aspirin in low doses. I have lost 3.25 inches off my waist. I will be taking the full stack of 25mg ephedrine, 250mg caffeine, and 325mg aspirin for the next seven days.

| The problem many people have in determining the correct dosage of ephedrine to take is in distinguishing between the mgs of ma huang extract listed and the grams of ephedra alkaloids present (the last number is the one you should refer to when taking the ECA stack).
Whoever suggested taking 300+ mgs of ephedrine as a part of a daily stack is giving the perfect recipe for a heart attack. NEVER EXCEED 100 mgs of ephedra per day. I never max out over 40 mgs. Ripped Fuel is probably the best for the money, although most ephedra products get the job done. Be smart people! READ LABELS! Never start out with the maximum dosage. I suggest two caps of Ripped Fuel, 8oz. cup of coffee, and one aspirin before a cardio workout--once a day/5-6 days a week. Remember that ephedrine chemically is very similar to cocaine and amphetamines, with the same fatal results if you take too much.

| I am fairly new to the whole bodybuilding thing, but I can give you this advice: When I first read about ECA, the article told me that ephedrine and caffeine are quite effective when used together, but adding the aspirin to the stack made it a dangerous combination. Now, in the same places I'm reading, "Yes, take aspirin with your caffeine and ephedrine, it's a perfect combination. Make sure you don't waste your time and money on white willow bark, a non-effective replacement for the aspirin as its active ingredients are not the same."
This is the point where I nod my head and pretend I understand and agree totally. It seems that everyone and their dog has an opinion about this combination, and that each and every opinion is different. I have read that the dosage should be as little as 5mg of ephedrine taken with about 50mg of caffeine once daily to as high as 500mg of caffeine with 300mg of ephedrine 6 times daily. I can't say what's completely right. What I can tell you is that a friend of mine is a doctor and I ran the ephedrine/caffeine combo past her, and she had no problem with it. She said she had heard of people using it, and that it could be effective. She hadn't heard of any ill effects, but advised that anything taken to speed weight loss, muscle gain, etc. be used with caution and to watch closely for anything out of the ordinary going on with your body.
So, armed with my conflicting opinions, magazines, and friend's advice, I came up with what I use. I take 50mg of ephedrine and 100mg of caffeine 3-4 times daily corresponding with meal times rather than workout times. I figure taking this type of thing with something in my stomach is a safer bet. I weight train 3-4 times a week, cardio twice, and take a day off. If the mood hits me I will try out a new exercise or weight lifting technique on my day off, but I generally just relax. I've tried to cut out unhealthy foods, but won't deny myself if I have a mad craving for a chocolate bar.
This routine seems to be working for me, and I've lost a good amount of weight (body fat) and increased my muscle. I don't have my body fat checked, I just know that I am losing inches faster than pounds--and the pounds are coming off pretty quickly too. I also don't seem to suffer from the severe mood swings I've heard about (haven't sobbed over long distance commercials or tried to eat any small children...and I'm pretty sure my daughter is pretty happy about the last one hee hee).
A word of caution though--DON'T just jump right in and jam a bunch of pills/supplements down your throat. Try a very small dose first to see how you'll react to the products. The first time I tried it, I took 15mg of ephedrine by itself and probably could have gotten the checkered flag at the Indy 500 on foot. I have worked up to the dosage I take now, and if I find myself on a plateau I stop taking anything for a week or so. And when you stop taking it, plan for a day of nothing. You'll sleep like a log. Used responsibly and with a certain degree of moderation, I think you'll be happy with your results.

| I have read a number of responses to the ECA stack. Some of the responses are alarming and some seem just foolish regarding the amount taken. I will relate my experiences in taking the ECA stack.
I have been taking the stack on and off for the last 2 years. At first it was twice a day (25mg ephedrine/200mg caffeine/325mg aspirin) per stack. I have, on occasion, taken three stacks per day. In regards to supplementation, it is the biggest bang for my buck that I have experienced. I will routinely take two stacks now per day, halfing the caffeine (100mg) and now will try halfing the aspirin (150mg). Again, this stack is taken in cycles. I have experienced the "normal" (or what I consider normal) effects (flushed/hot/increased heart rate/increased energy). I have not experienced any bleeding, stomach problems or any other negative effects. I understand that every individual is different and will respond differently to the stack. This could explain the bleeding or heart problems experienced by some individuals that could be predisposed to such problems.
The one thing to remember about a supplement is it's just that, a supplement. There is no replacement for a healthy diet, rest, and a hard workout. I have taken creatine in a number of forms and a variety of other supplements over the last 10 years. The one I could not do without is a good protein powder or meal replacement.
To end, yes the ECA stack is potentially a dangerous supplement if taken in large doses or if taken by individuals predisposed to other health problems. It should not be the backbone of any supplementation program. Common sense when taking any supplement should prevail.
