Question: Can Overloading Creatine Alter Magnesium Levels?
|
After reading the Sports Supplement Review, put out by EAS, I noticed a short paragraph noting well known strength guru Charles Poliquin had a heart attack. It was noted, upon testing, that he had an extremely low level of magnesium. Can the overloading of creatine alter magnesium levels? Magnesium is generally associated with ATP production which is dramatically increased by supplementing with large doses of creatine. I would be interested in a response to this.

If magnesium levels were decreased from creatine supplementation, you would see aerobic "animals" having these problems. This is not the case since they will use more ATP than a power athlete.
