Creatine

Question: Does Creatine Have Sexual Side Effects?
I recently heard that creatine has some sexual side effects. Is this true? Has anyone ever administered a test to see if this is true?

I have also been pondering this same question and have not located any supporting information on this subject. I'm a 38 year old heterosexual male who started using Creatine Monohydrate last summer to achieve muscular advances with my workout routine. Based upon my personal experience, I have noticed that my sexual arousal and interest is greatly diminished. In addition, I also noticed extreme difficulty in achieving orgasm to the point that I thought something was physically or mentally wrong with me. However, after cycling off of creatine for approximately two months, I found that I seemed to return to normal. I also use several vitamin supplements, protein powders, DHEA, and vanadyl sulfate and had never noticed these side effects before I started using creatine.

My boyfriend has been taking Creatine and experienced positive gains as an athlete. In contrast to the previous respondent, however, sexual arousal has not been a problem...but orgasms sneak up on him before he knows it, and much sooner than before. It's now been 2 weeks since he cycled off of creatine, but his sexual prowess has not returned to normal. Needless to say, he's very concerned. Has anyone else experienced or witnessed such side effects???

I have to say while I was taking Creatine, my girl and I had some of the best sex ever. Yes it help ALL muscles get hard. But when I came off, I found the opposite to be the case for a while. I was LIMP. I got over it after 2 months. I was only on Creatine for 2 months!!!

I have no medical facts regarding the use of creatine and the sex drive however, my twenty-two year old boyfriend has been taking creatine for about five months now. During this time, he has experienced extreme moods swings as well as a dramatic decrease in his desire to have sex. I would like to see some medical studies regarding creatine and sex drive!!!

I have cycled creatine on several occasions. Each time I have gone on a cycle, I have noticed a BIG reduction in sex drive. My sex drive seems to have returned to normal after being off of creatine for several weeks. I no longer take it because I truly believe there is a connection here. I have written to several of the large supplement companies about this and have received no responses.

I too have noticed a reduction in sex drive with Creatine, however much of this is in retrospect, and I am hoping that my normal interest returns. I have been taking Creatine for about 18 months and for the last 3 months have been dating. My sexual interest has never been as normal with this relationship to the point where there is a real issue with sex. I have NEVER had any similar lack of motivation for sex before. I have come off Creatine now for about 4 weeks with no real change to my sex drive yet. I notice a big lack of energy without this stuff and have been feeling somewhat depressed. I have NEVER felt depressed before. It is a new and unpleasant experience. I do not know if all of this is circumstantial or not, but if anyone can offer advice I would appreciate it.
