Question: What Are The Good And Bad Effects Of Glutamine, DHEA, And Amino Fuel 2000?
What are the good and bad effects of glutamine? Should someone under the age of 30 use this product? Any side effects? Also what do you know about DHEA and Amino Fuel 2000?

Question expanded by another reader.
Hi there, my name is Leonardo and I'm 17. I intend to take the Amino Fuel 2000 that I just bought and I'd like to know if there are any side effects or any reasons for me not to take it . Please answer me as soon as possible. Is it true that you can get cancer by using it?

Thank you so much,
Leonardo

A quick response:

DHEA is a steroid (banned by the IOC) and has all the potential side effects of anabolic steroids. It is a precursor (breaks into) to both testosterone and estrogen. If you're going to take it, I have seen recommendations to take between 2-10mg/day and cycle off it. We make about 2mgish (I think) naturally. Studies have shown that synthetic DHEA won't disrupt our internal production mechanism of DHEA.

I can't really comment on Amino Fuel 2000. I don't know what's in it.

Glutamine increases the levels of growth hormone in your body by changing the feedback mechanism that governs said levels. It's also an amino acid. Also even "good" vitamins like A, D & K can be toxic and have harmful side effects when too much is taken.

I've been taking high doses of protein for longer then I can remember, some don't seem to work, and some seem to help out very well. We're not talking steroids, growth hormone or even creatine, but we are talking about less sore muscles in the morning. And depending on what you're taking, I've gained 10 pounds of solid muscle in two weeks on designer protein. But, everybody is different, and different proteins have different effects on everyone. Not dangerously (usually), but in growth, fat percentage, strength, and soreness, all depending on what's in them. Amino acids of all sorts are basically a more simplified version of protein powders. They are the building blocks of muscle and have the same effect as proteins usually, unless one or the other has additives in it. I take it and so do tons of other people, so I wouldn't worry. We're not talking steroids here, but as with everything, don't take more then the maker tells you.
