Consumer Review: Ephedra, Caffeine And Aspirin Keep Me Awake At Work And Do Wonders For My Workouts.
I hear a lot of bad reviews on Ephedra. I love it. I took 2 bottles of Xenadrine. The first bottle seemed to work really well. Now, the second bottle that I went through, had no effect at all. I decided to make my own version. I bought a bottle of plain aspirin, CVS brand caffeine tablets and GNC Ephedra. I take two Ephedra, one aspirin and one caffeine. It works great. I can feel it working. I have an office job and I used to almost dose off everyday. Now, I feel charged up all of the time. It really works wonders at the gym too. I have to look at the clock to tell me when to quit working out and go home. I would like to try over-the-counter ephedrine and see if it's any better. I wasn't aware I could even get it without a prescription until I read a review from here.

I like ephedra too, however, I created my own combination that gives me a lot of energy. I take an herbal supplement which contains ephedra along with Spring Valley brand kelp, Lecithin, B6 and Weider brand Pyruvate. I take them within an hour of each other so I don't get an upset stomach. But for those of you who feel like your energy is sapped, the kelp will give the thyroid gland the support it needs and the Pyruvate burns off the carbs. I lost nearly 10lbs in one month. Sometimes low energy and weight gain (especially in women) is due to an under active thyroid and the inability to metabolize carbohydrates efficiently.

I also use ephedra and do believe in it as a good supplement. It worries me, however, when I read about people who "mix their own" with caffeine and/or aspirin. I'm not talking down on either combination. I simply want to say that there have been adverse effects when mixing ephedrine with caffeine. There have been recent studies also showing aspirin and ephedra can be dangerous as well.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the use of many supplements, but please make sure you are well informed on what you put into your body. Remember that when you take any form of ephedra, be it from Ripped Fuel, Xenadrine or Hydroxycut (my personal favorite), that rush of energy you feel is your heart speeding up. Keep tabs on your heart rate, both resting and active, and make sure that you aren't slowly killing yourself. You only have one heart, at least the last time I checked. I don't want to scare anyone, all I'm saying is the information is out there. Read it and keep on top of it. Keep safe and strong.
