GH Releasers

Consumer Review: I Think The "Hormone Releaser" I Was Taking Caused A Golf Ball Size Growth In My Uterus .
I have been taking a product called Longevity from Pharmaceutical Corporation of America, which contain what is called human growth hormone releaser containing L-glutamine, glycine, L-arginine hydrochloride, L-ornithine hydrochloride. I took this product for 6 months. It is suppose to increase energy and longevity. I didn't really feel much difference. However, recently I found out that I have a uterine fibroid about the size of a golf ball. It is painless, was only detected by a pelvic exam. Six months ago I had a pelvic exam in which nothing was found.

I can't help to conclude that this product had something to do with either causing an undetected fibroid to growth excessively or to cause the fibroid to start and growth as it has. I have no family history of fibroids. I have stopped taking this product. Needless to say, won't ever take it again. I feel that this company should list possible side effects of this product on the label. They should have known that this could be a consequence. In my research on the internet, I found mention that people with increase human growth hormone are at increased risk of developing fibroids. Fibroids are a result of a hormonal imbalance. I thought others should be aware of this potential problem.

You are correct in thinking that fibroids are a result of a hormonal balance. However, the couple of books I've read on hormones say fibroids are a result of estrogen dominance. And while you say you have no family history of fibroids, I think you should consider all of the possible ways that women (and even men) may be getting estrogen in their body.

The meat industry uses estrogen to make animals gain fat and retain water. (Livestock is sold by weight so it is profitable for the meat industry to pump animals with potentially dangerous hormones.) Pesticides such as DDT are considered xeno-estrogens, which act as estrogen in the body. There have been documented cases of wildlife having hormone problems (biological males having the hormone levels of a female) because their aquatic environment was so polluted with pesticides. In a rural area of Australia where pesticide usage was high, there were reported incidents of young boys having unusually small penises. Even the plastic wrap/plastic containers which are used for microwaving (and storing) food are believed to cause xeno-estrogens to leach into food (particular when food is heated). You might consider looking into this subject for yourself. I think any book by Dr. John R. Lee would be an excellent choice. This education will certainly help you better understand treatment options, especially using natural progesterone (which seems to be the best way to balance an estrogen dominance).

I don't think that your MD is likely to mention natural progesterone as an option because MDs usually deal in synthetic hormones (i.e. the Pill and HRT). That's because MDs know about what pharmaceutical companies offer, and these companies cannot make a profit off a natural substance that they can't patent. If you haven't already done so, you may want to have your hormone levels checked. Most MDs don't know about the more accurate (relatively newer) saliva tests, so most MDs usually offer a blood test which might be better than nothing.

I can consider that HGH can possibly cause growth of tumors, but I would think that the estrogen dominance would have had to play some role, somehow. (In which case you may still have an imbalance that needs to be addressed, particularly if your MD only treats the fibroids and not your hormones.) But what I find unusual is that you say you felt no improvement, which would indicate to me that this supplement was completely ineffective. I find it hard to believe that there was no benefit whatsoever--and only negative side effects. Are you sure you felt no benefit? Ronald Katz, in his book "Grow Young with HGH" documented the only known side effects as being joint swelling and carpal tunnel syndrome, and these were in cases where HGH levels were high and went away with a lowered dose. These higher doses were only achieved with the actual hormone (recombinant DNA form, homeopathic doses, which are only prescribed by a MD and injected) and not from the releasers.

I can understand the connection you make because of the timing of the supplement and your fibroids, but I sincerely think you might honestly benefit from looking into this subject further to finally resolve your health issue.
