| Question: Is GH Stak Made From Bovine Nervous Tissue? If So, I'm Concerned It Could Cause Mad Cow Disease. |
I'm somewhat concerned about the anterior pituitary substance/peptides found in the ingredients of most HGH IGF promoting products. Does anyone know the source of the anterior pituitary ingredient listed in the GH Stak product? My concern is that if the source is animal nervous tissue (bovine in particular), that there may be a danger of mad-cow disease or other suspected prion induced disorders.

| The Mad-Cow disease in humans is known as Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease, which was a problem when the hormone was extracted from the pituitary gland of human corpses. It is referred to as Mad-Cow disease because it is like a human form of the disease, but it is not Mad-Cow disease. Now HGH is synthetic and made by recombinant DNA technology. This synthetic HGH, produced by such companies such as Genentech and Novo Nordisk, is a chain of either 191 or 192 amino acids. I believe Novo Nordisk or some other company found a way to produce an amino acid chain with one amino acid less (or more) than the actual hormone in order to avoid a patent infringement law suit with Genentech. But this form of HGH is very expensive because the recombinant DNA technology is still relatively new.
When you say "GH Stak" product, I have to think you are referring to the amino acid stack that some experts recommend to stimulate the release HGH by the pituitary. This "stack" is just several amino acids taken together for synergistic effect. There are several books on this subject that can be helpful if you are really interested. Ronald Klatz, MD has written a number of books on this subject and includes information in the appendix (of one of his books) about the different products out there. Also "Resetting the Clock" explains some interesting information on the development of the synthetic form.
