Consumer Review: When I Take Glutamine, I Wake Up In The Middle Of The Night And I Can't Go Back To Sleep.
A friend of mine suggested Glutamine to me, so I thought I'd try it. I am experiencing one weird effect. I take it at bedtime, as recommended, but find that I wake approximately 5 hours into the night and simply cannot go back to sleep. Every time I have taken this product, this result is inevitable. Any input?

Well, Glutamine is a precursor to Glutamic Acid, which basically is a brain fuel (that's why you can get Glutamic Acid along with your typical vitamins and such in health food stores...) I'm just taking a wild guess here, but maybe the Glutamine is having some weird effect on your neural system. Can anyone verify this? I'm going to see if I can find out myself a little more about this since I'm considering Glutamine supplements.

I started taking Glutamine, creatine and HMB about a week and a half ago. I've felt very energetic overall (much more than usual) and have had the same thing. I fall asleep fine, but wake up at 3AM and can't go back to sleep. Taking about 5g of the Glutamine.

I have been taking creatine monohydrate for a while now, I'm 17. Then I found out about Glutamine and tried it. I got the some results, I would wake up in the middle of the night and no matter how hard I try I can't get back to sleep.

I have been using Glutamine for about a month now. 4.5g before workout and 4.5g after workout. So far, I have not experienced any restless nights. Just my 2 cents.
