Consumer Review: While Taking Lipitor, My Eyes Have Become Swollen And Itchy Like I Have Poison Ivy.

I have been taking Lipitor for two months now and just recently have had swollen eyes, itching and what feels and looks like poison ivy. Many mornings my eyes are swollen shut and throughout the day they remain swollen, red and itchy. This is not for me. Tomorrow I will go the doctor and see what can be done to get me off this medication.

My wife has been on Lipitor for about a year and she not only complains of dry, itchy skin and skin rash, but also has occasional weakness and pain in her lower extremities. These symptoms last for maybe 1 to 2 minutes, but may occur once or twice a day or only once every couple of days. After being off Lipitor for about a week, none of the muscle pain or weakness has reappeared. Her doctor, by the way, was baffled by her complaint of weakness and pain and had no suggestions as to how to remedy the problem. Maybe we can get some more input from other people on Lipitor.

The side effects that your doctor is supposed to warn you about include all that you mentioned. I was on it for 8 months and had complaints about muscle cramps and weakness, and my doctor did not take me off until it was too late. Now, I have major nerve damage in the legs and I can hardly walk. Class action law suit anyone?

After taking Lipitor for only a week, I developed a rash on my arms and back. It was combined with a new medication for my cancer. The rash was a vicious looking red group of spots that stung. My doctor took me off it immediately, had me use cortisone creme and Allegra. It started to calm down the next day, but a week later I still have almost hard dry spots where the rash was.
