Lortab

Question: Does LorTab Have Any Harmful Effects Other Than Being Habbit Forming?
I have taken LorTab for about 8 years now for back and neck pain. I have been to doctors that say I need to stop taking this medicine. I just want to know the harm to taking this drug other than it being habit forming. Is there any other effects it could take on your body that is harmful? If anyone has an answer to this I really need to know.

Thanks
Sylvia

Answer #1
I took Lortab for pain after a motorcycle accident. The pain-relieving properties were wonderful, but as soon as my pain lessened (as I began to heal) the negative effects of the Lortab became more prevalent. I realized that I was becoming extremely agitated and aggressive, which is part of the addictive properties. While I have no idea of the effects on the rest of the body, a bad state of mind was enough for me to stop taking the drug.

Answer #2
I took Lorcet 10/650, essentially the same as Lortab but a little stronger, for 3+ years. I wound up with a narcotic addiction that eventually led to black market searches for opiates (including heroin). The addiction potential of hydrocodone (the active ingredient in lortab) is VERY severe!

As for the other dangers, the only one that I am aware of is the damage done to the liver by the by the high amounts of acetaminophen (Tylenol) present in the pills. I am sure that I will receive various arguments on the following statement. I have found from years of reading various types of literature on the subject, that the PURE form of any type of opiate, aside from self-inflicted damage resulting from addiction, has no significant negative effects on the human body whatsoever.

I wish it to be known that I am neither a doctor nor scientist of any type, however, I have studied subjects such as this for over 15 years. I would greatly appreciate any further information on this subject.

Thank you,
Lane
