I have been taking Paxil for almost a year now. Make sure to follow the directions accordingly. For the first 3-4 months, it was bad. I always wanted to go out and drink, which you cannot do. I would drink and embarrass myself. It would only take a couple of drinks and I would be loud and drunk, but not know it. My boyfriend said I was a totally different person if I drank on it. I slept a lot, I had severe dry mouth. I had vivid, bizarre, dreams that seemed to be in fast forward. Sometimes I could not sleep at all.
Now I love it; I however, I am a 22 year old female with a beautiful boyfriend, and I do not want to give up my sex drive (and believe me, it is GONE). So I am going to talk to my doctor about switching to Serzone. I have heard very good things about it. I take Paxil for anxiety, and it DEFINITELY helps with anxiety. It's great. But I have gained about 7 pounds and, like I said, no sex drive. You really have to give it a chance. I didn't lose most of the side effects until about 2 months later, and it took about 6 months to feel I was getting the best results from it. I don't even feel like I am on medication with Paxil, which is wonderful. I can do more things and not feel insecure about them, or that I am "overstepping my bounds." I express more of my opinions and I feel that I am a normal person without constant anxiety. Paxil made me feel more like myself than I have felt in years. I made more friends since, too.
Good Luck
