Question: My Husband Had A Terrible Reaction To Plaquenil That Cost Him All The Skin On His Hands And Feet.
|
Three years ago my husband was being treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Plaquenil About 3 weeks into taking the drug, he developed severe chest pains and ended up in St Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was diagnosed with a blood clot in each lung! He also reacted to the drug with a rash from his neck down. His mouth was so full of sores he had to take medicine to numb it so he could eat. He was in the hospital for nine days & everyday, he was seen by at least 4 doctors and became a case study and had pictures taken because they had never seen such a severe reaction. He ended up losing all the skin on his hands and feet. This drug was recommended because it was suppose to be so great for RA and not suppose to have any side effects! Needless to say, when asked if he's allergic to any medications, Plaquenil is at the top of the list.
