Question: I Took Steroids Without Even Knowing It. Now I'm Wondering How Long It Will Take To Get Them Out Of My System.
|
| I made the mistake of buying some over the counter drug in Mexico to help me with my hives. I break out in hives pretty regularly and I remember when I was very young taking a small orange pill which helped with the hives immediately. Last July I decided to get these pills so all I did was describe it to a pharmacist and "waalaa" I was given "Celestamine F." Underneath the name is "Betametasona/Dexclorfeniramina."
To make a long story short, I went to the doctor yesterday over anxiety attacks I've been having and other problems and showed her the pills and she said they were steroids. I've been taking these pills on an almost regular basis for 7 months now. I've gained quite a bit of weight (I don't really exercise), and now I need to know how long will it take for the steroids to get out of my system. And most importantly, will I lose the weight? Thank you.

Dude,
From the information I've obtained and received from others around the net, I've been told that steroids can last anywhere from 12-18 months in the human body. Don't quote me on this one because I'm not 100% sure. I'm trying to find out myself. So, just to give you a little something to ponder. That's what I'm going by. I'm hoping someone else will come along and give us the thumbs up or down based on the answer I gave you.

Deca stays in your system for 12-18 months. The rest of the other steroids last anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months at a time. But since you were on for 7 months, it may take longer. Ask you doctor or pharmacist.
