Consumer Review: I Was Thinking Of Taking Steroids To Be Like The Monsters In The Gym Until My Doc Asked Me This Question.
I am 30 and have been lifting on and off since I was 16. I got burned out because of the frustration of seeing guys at the gym using steroids growing like crazy. I would watch as they would inject themselves with the stuff and wonder if it was for me. After I read all I could, I talked to a friend that was a nurse and she hooked me up with a doc that gave me honest information. After he talked with me about the pros and cons of steroids (and there is good and bad, we all know that) he asked me this question and it sticks with me today: "Is this going to be how you earn your living that puts food on the table for your family?" For me, no it wasn't, so I decided not to take them. Since that day, I haven't worried about the guys that use them to make gains. I have been VERY happy with the gains I have made using a good diet and following the advice of very knowledgeable older lifters who helped me break through some personal goals.

For those who use them, be safe and don't kill yourself for looks. Those that making a living at it, be honest with the young guys that look up to you and tell them to go talk to a doctor first. Then their decision may be based and facts and not on the GUY THEY WANT TO LOOK LIKE OR THE PICTURES IN THE MAGAZINES.

By the way, I'm 6' 4" and 255 and I don't think anyone who really enjoys lifting ever thinks they're BIG enough. That's the name of the game we play. TRUE BODYBUILDERS WANT TO BE AS BIG AS POSSIBLE. When that 300 or 400 pounds of weights come toward your body, your mind is never thinking, "I hope the chicks are impressed with this." It's about getting it back up FOR ONE MORE REP BABY!

I strongly believe in what this guy is saying. I'm a dancer and know of many dancers using steroids. The money in dancing is great with little hours to put in. If you're not making money using steroids, whether modeling or dancing or professional sports, then don't take them. If you do, I would recommend the weaker stuff like winstrol or deca. With minimal gains and fewer side effects, you will still get bigger, but not to the point where you make huge gains, get off and loose it all. Take minimal gains and work from that. Little by little, before you know it, you will look pretty good.
