Right so I'm a high school student trying to do some research
on steroids for a project, but I've only just begun researching
this evening. I'm 17 and a junior, and I began lifting my freshmen
year, when my maxes for bench and squat were around 135 and 200,
respectively. I have worked out inconsistently and somewhat haphazardly
for these 3 years, and I now bench 235 and squat 300. I am proud
of what I've accomplished but I used to wonder if taking steroids
would've been a better, quicker alternative to the work I did.
I now believe that I made the right choice not to juice. I've
just spent the last hour and a half reading all the responses,
and now I am trying to put together a general overview of the
reviews posted. This is what I believe I have learned from these
reviews:
Everyone who posted a review believes that taking steroids at
the age of 16 or 17, in any form, but with emphasis on incorrect
and ignorant usage, is wrong and very inadvisable. Also three
major things to do before using steroids are research, research,
and research. Side affects can result from steroid use but are
far more potent as a result of incorrect use. There are different
levels and types of steroids and all are different. Steroid use
can propel you past plateau, but should only be used after many
years of experienced lifting, if you are going to use at all.
My personal belief is that you can accomplish the goals you have
set for yourself without the use of alien substances. I am also
aware that, being young, and not having great knowledge of human
physiology, I don't have the experience necessary to back this
belief. I believe everyone is different, that different bodies
will react differently to the same substance, and though steroids
may have the same general affect on everyone’s body, people
should consult their own physicians and do as much as is humanly
possible to ensure safety when taking any substance.
I want to thank all of the people that posted reviews on this
site, this last hour and a half has been extraordinarily educational
and informative.
