Consumer Review: Zoloft Is Helping Me Lose Weight And Increase Energey, But It Has Had Some Side Effects.
|
I am a 29 year old female, height 5'7" weight 141. I am not taking any other drugs at present, although I was supposed to be taking Corgard for MVP palpitations but have been off of it for 6 mos. I have been taking Zoloft 25-50mg daily for four weeks now and this is what my experience so far has been:
Slow & gradual weight loss (7 pounds), better ability to focus, more energy than previous, more patience with the kids, less reactive to pressure. HOWEVER, I noticed that if the drug is taken in the afternoon or evening, it is more difficult to get to sleep. I also noticed that I needed to increase water intake and urinate more frequently. When reducing my 50 mg daily dosage to 50 mg one day, 25 mg following day and alternating, mentioned side effects were less prevalent. I will post in the months to come to update my findings. Good Luck!

I began taking zoloft one week ago. I also have MVP, but take lopressor only as needed. I have also found that the zoloft keeps me awake if I take it before noon. I am having trouble adjusting to an increase in energy. It seems to be like a mild "jittery" feeling. I also seem to have more patience with kids. I do hope this helps control panic attacks as promised. I would like to hear how you are doing.

| Hi I been taking Zoloft for a couple of years now. I too noticed a "jittery" feeling when taking it. I found that watching what I ate about an hour before and after seemed to help. Seems to react with anything that contains sugar, like any sodas. candy bars and such. This feeling eventually faded, takes a few month for all the side effects to settle down, then you notice a change. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me. I take it for depression. Good luck!

Hello, I am a 26 yr. old college student and was just diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorders. I have been on Buspar for about 3 weeks. The Dr. just put me on Zoloft. I have heard bad and good things about this medicine. I have the booklet that comes in my packet, but it says that you can quit cold turkey and a lot of the responses I have heard are negative on that. From hearing what you had to say, I have hope because you are not really supposed to have many side effects. I want to lose some weight too. I hope I do also. I really just want to feel like myself again. I have only felt like this for about a month now. Thanks for your info and time.
Thanks,
Shelley
