I took 50mg of Zoloft for approximately seven months. I began to notice (after five months) I was losing my balance more and more often. Later, I began to feel light-headed and then nauseous. The next symptom to appear was seizure-like episodes which increased to the point that my cardiologist told me I was not to drive any longer. I felt like I was dying. I was getting sicker and sicker and missing more and more work.
I must say, I am a professional woman, age 55, and have MVP (this has been known to cause anxiety or panic attacks in some people). Back to my point; after seeing my doctor and having a brain scan which he said was normal, I became increasingly more ill. One night I went to bed and forgot to take the Zoloft. The next day I felt a little better. This made me question if the cause of my illness was the Zoloft I was taking. Therefore, I went back to taking it for a period of four days, during which I returned to being very ill. On the fifth day, I stopped taking it.
It has been three weeks now that I have been off Zoloft. Every day is better. I have no more upset stomach, off balance feelings, seizures (these felt like massive tremors in my head), and most of all, I can sleep through the night again. I faxed my doctor this information, but have had no response as of yet. If all this is not related to Zoloft, I cannot imagine why I improved, went back to taking it, got sicker, quit taking it, got better.
