I started taking Zoloft 2 months ago. The first month, except for the side effects, was great. For the first time ever, I found myself disciplined enough to get an A in a college course! The side effects though were very difficult to deal with. I have always had a weak stomach, and within 24 hours of taking the first pill, I began to experience severe stomach cramping. I smoke marijuana recreationally and know of the medicinal advantages of it. It worked wonders for the cramping, while still allowing the Zoloft to do what it was supposed to do. I lost about 10 lbs in that month.
I stopped taking the Zoloft out of a reluctance to admit that I indeed was depressed. I began having this odd sensation on the left side of my body. Difficult to explain, but others on the site have labeled it "electrical." Now, 4 days after resuming the meds, the sensation is gone, but the cramping is back. It hurts like hell, but weight loss on a 185 lb, 5' 5" depressed woman is NOT a bad thing. My ego has come back. I can wear the clothes I wore when I was 19 and feel like I did when I was 19. A week of stomach cramps is worth it!
