| I took Prozac about 5 years ago and benefited greatly from it, but the cost was too much and the repeat doctor visits were too much. I heard about SAM-e, did some investigation, and then purchased it from my local Wal-Mart. I am very pleased with the results.
I suffer from chemical depression and had stopped using Prozac about 2 years ago. I experienced mild headaches for the first 2 weeks, but I do not have them any more. I will continue using SAM-e as long as it is available. I take 2 tablets in the morning and 2 at lunch. I am super sensitive to caffeine and do not feel any effects like that while using it.
The main result for me is that I do not get as bothered by small things like I did. My patience is much longer now. I do not lose my temper. I find myself doing more, and enjoying work and family more. The real test was when I stopped taking it for 3 days. I could then tell the difference in my attitude. I am a 30 year old divorced female who runs my family's business. The pressure is great to maintain a business that was started by my grandfather, but I really believe the SAM-e helps.
