Can Saw Palmetto really prevent baldness in men? Are there any side effects?

So far, through my research, I have concluded saw palmetto acts in the same manner as propecia/proscar. Now I am actively seeking to replace propecia with saw palmetto in my hair restoration program. Since saw palmetto is a natural product, it cannot have a patent, and thus the big companies are not interested in it for treatments for hair and prostate. I believe if taken in the correct dosages, it is safe. Good luck.
