Consumer Review: St. John's Wort Is Helping Me Regain My Sanity.

| One day I started using words in the middle of sentences that didn't belong there. A few weeks later, I was tired all the time and not thinking clearly. A few months later, I was a complete mess...unrecognizable...not my usual quick-witted, fast thinking and fast acting, humorous self. I couldn't remember my sister's or my mother's phone number. I couldn't write a number or dial a number without mixing the numbers up. My brain was scrambled. If I managed to brush my hair in a day, it was a lot of work. I could not communicate. I saw people every day and tried to explain but no one understood. I could not get through. I could not get outside of myself.
I went to about 20 different doctors. The one woman doctor that I decided to stick with dragged it out for almost a full year before she decided that it was all in my head. I was imagining all my symptoms and was recommended for psychiatric treatment and mind altering pharmaceutical drugs. I changed doctors. I have this awesome doctor now that I still see, 4 years later. I met him twice before I found St. John's Wort. I read about it in some books. This doctor got to see me when I was at my worst. I started the St. John's wort without his knowledge but told him at our next appointment that I was using it, and what I had read. He was fully supportive. Within 3 days I knew I was doing the right thing.
