Will On 100% Whey Protien Make me Taller??

Postby Stickman » Aug 21 - 6:06pm

Hey all
Im 19 6`4 but my weight is 164lbs. Im underweight and i decided to buy the protien supplement On 100% Whey. Will taking this supplement make me taller?? I plan on working out regularly as i dont want to be skinny and underweight anymore. But my Uni life wont let me eat healthy enough to actually put on weight so protien supplements are my only option now. Id really like your help on this matter. Will this protien supplement make me grow taller than i already am?

Thank you in Advance.

no it will not make you taller.

you would be better off with a weight gainer, try to find one with low sugar. MHP's Up Your Mass is a good choice.

are you training? what does your "unhealthy" diet actually look like?

First off thanks Mr.Ed for the quick reply :).

Hmm weight gainer.. will it help on packing on muscle?

Well its not as much as my diet.. its more of like i dont get time to eat as much as i should in between classes for example..

I wake up have a bagel as i rush to class.. then during lunch time... i barely have a 15 min break leading to a class which lasts 3 hours.. so like im off at 5 after which i go to the gym till 6:30 then go home and eat dfinner. i usually try compensating for the lunch with a jamba juice or something.... but its obviously not enough.

So basically thats my routine. and ohh yeah.. on weekends... my lunch generally consists of microwaves Jose Ole's :D

ok your going to have to put in a little more effort.

saying you dont have enough time in the morning to eat well is not a very good excuse, get up early, have some eggs, toast, oatmeal, oj etc. this is VERY important.

buy some high calorie meal replacement bars, take them to class with you.

try to eat a protein source at least every 3 hours, a whole meal if possible.

microwave dinners on weekends sounds just like laziness to me. i dont mean to sound harsh, but you need to develope a routine for eating and training.

there are some great mass gaining tips and workouts in the diet and nutrition, and training forums, check them out.

No its not harsh at all. its something i need to hear. It kinda gets hard juggling so many things at once like homework etc.

Plus the fact that i never had to cook until now is kinda messing with me (miss u mom! )

I guess ill have to practice my time management.

Thanks for your help Mr.Ed :)

Btw Do u have any cheap gainers in mind? cos i really cant afford most of the high tech stuff.

well for bars i would buy a box of Detour oatmeal bars.

for shakes take 1 1/2 cups oats, 1 1/2 scoops of whey protein, and 2 tbsp natural peanut butter and throw it in a blender. this is extremely cheap compared to anything you will see on the shelves. if your on the go just buy a funnel and put a few shakes in some empty water bottles, i do this when im out all day at school and work.

Oh wow. 6'4 and only 164 pounds? Are you malnourished? You should at least try to eat 5 times a day.

Slowly bump up your calories. First start with 2500 cals a day. Then a month later bump it up to 3000 then repeat until you hit a point where your getting somewhere around 4500-5000 cals a day if you can.

Stickman unfortunately unless you are nutritionaly defecient nothing will help you grow taller. Height is determined by the genetics you get from your mom and dad. You have different growth plates these start to close at 11 or 12 years old and finish in most at 21 or 22 years old. Of course making sure you get plenty of excercise, enough calcium and enough vitamins and minerals will help ensure you reach your maximum height. As a footnote the use of anabolic steroids mimic your own bodys fluctuations in testosterone levels these spikes starting at puberty are what signals the growth plates to close. So one more reason people under 21 should never consider taking steroids. Several university studies have shown that adolescents taking steroids can stunt there final height by up to 2 inches or more. My advice is be happy with what good gave you work out develop a killer physique and be the best person you can bro. Hope that helps
